NIPC to Reconsider Third Airport Need at Peotone
The Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission will re-evaluate its three year old stance on a third regional airport at Peotone. The commission backed the master plan study grant and will coordinate with IDOT while not fully endorsing the site. Officials say the vote signals a cautious review of demand amid airline cutbacks.

Matteson trustees reject religious sign request
Matteson village trustees upheld a legal memo denying a banner across Route 50 for Zion Lutheran Church School. The banner, featuring a cross and the slogan Sharing Christ, was deemed inappropriate for public property, while signs on private property were allowed. The board urged removing the cross or Christ reference or creating a neutral banner.
