Evans L. Krehbiel Scholarship Honors Community Enviro Activist
National Louis University professor Craig Mealman created the Evans L. Krehbiel BOG Scholarship at Governors State University to aid a Board of Governors Bachelor of Arts degree student active in the community and environmental causes. Clarke of Calumet City, a GSU BA program student, received the one time award after Mealman selected her from ten candidates. Clarke volunteers for a humane shelter, gardens organically, teaches Native American values, and promotes animal welfare while sharing indirect communication through stories to help her children. Mealman, a 1980 GSU BA alumnus with master’s and doctoral degrees, credits the nontraditional program for his career path and supports adult education initiatives.
