Teacher of Year shares caring approach at Frankfort talk
Cathy Bissoondial the 1999 Illinois Teacher of the Year spoke at Frankfort School District 157-C to stress caring for the whole student. A 1964 Marian Catholic graduate now teaching in Normal, she described cross grade tutoring and a program where fourth graders teach seniors to use the Internet while noting her 29 years in the profession.

Doctor drops Wilson from malpractice suit in Cook County case
Sauk Village man Donald Rubins narrowed his February malpractice suit against Dr. Lance Wilson and others to name only Don Fishman for surgery on his mother Anne Rubins at Olympia Fields Osteopathic Medical Center. The case centers on alleged misdiagnosis and resulting malnutrition during a June 1996 hospitalization. Wilson’s attorney Ed Nielsen noted no wrongdoing. the remaining suit relates to Henry Taylor, a Richton Park nursing home resident who died after a potassium chloride dose and prompted a pending action against Wilson despite an initial homicide ruling and a license suspension in October.
