State's Attorney moves forward after about 20 minutes of deputy testimony finding probable cause in the Nov 22 hit and run that left 12 year old Jimmy Bowman severely injured. Jeffrey Bryant, 18, faces one count of failing to report an accident involving personal injury as his preliminary hearing is set for January 19 before Circuit Judge Rodney Lechnar.

Thornton starts work on 911 job
Thornton village officials announced the first phase of information gathering for the enhanced 911 emergency system to take effect in 1994. The project, approved last November, will use a computerized database of resident names and addresses with future health histories and police activity notes. Trustee Bruce Boyd said verification has begun and noted the process will take time due to the large amount of data.
