Burglary and Fire Probe In Village
Park Forest police investigate a burglary linked to a Chicago man after a minister found a man with stolen items on Shabbona street. The burglarized home and other residents’ possessions are under scrutiny as detectives seek a suspect in the Chicago area. In a separate incident on Hemlock street a wife fled as flames burned clothing in a bathtub, police say.

Jurors in Joliet hear crime lab witness recount that fingerprints of Melvin Wilson were found on a portable TV in the Dixon Knight condo at 23437 Western Ave Park Forest. Det. Sgt. Ted Peck testified Wilson told him he had never been inside the complex during interview in Kenosha. Co defendant Clifford Horn faces trial with Wilson. Horn’s fingerprints were also found at the scene. Prosecution says the pair entered Dixon's apartment for a drug deal that turned to armed robbery and murder.

Park Forest trustees tentatively schedule Pizzazz II for June with a $30,000 three day set of events including open houses, a house walk, a computer giveaway, a buyer seminar, a book sale art fair flea market live music and a progressive dinner.
