Kosovo couple finds peace adapting to life in New Lenox
Perparim Nevzadi and Lejeta from Kosovo married in a refugee camp and arrived in Chicago via the Relief Corporation. They now live in New Lenox with help from the Community of Churches of Beverly and Morgan Park and World Relief Corporation staff. Poli works at St Joseph Provena Hospital in Joliet, aided by a donated 1988 Oldsmobile from Montell Pontiac. They learn English, seek housing and steady work while keeping ties with relatives back in Kosovo.
