The Matteson plan commission sent Prairie Development back to the drawing board Thursday night to address issues with placing a lake at the center of its proposed 200 unit development. The commission was generally pleased with other aspects of the plan.

Screening Sign-up Slated in District 159
District 159 Matte son Richton Park will run a screening for three and four year olds during the week of April 30 to May 4. District staff and the Southwest Cook County Cooperative Association for Special Education will conduct the evaluation to identify educational needs and plan for early childhood and speech class placement for the 1979 80 school year.

Ash Wednesday Opens Lenten Rites At Four Churches
Four Matteson churches begin Ash Wednesday services and run through Easter with weekly programs. Immanuel Lutheran at Cicero and Sauk opens 8 p.m. featuring a filmstrip and a theme on people who met Jesus. Zion Lutheran on 216th Street hosts Ash Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. with a reception for confirmands after. Faith United Church of Christ starts 7:30 p.m. with the theme Who Is Jesus and a choir performance.
