The venture aims to help welfare recipients gain education and employment, with PSC hosting on the north campus and a $108,000 grant funding staff and equipment. The program targets at least 300 clients monthly with 20 hours weekly of instruction and offers GED prep, reading and English improvement, counseling, child care, financial aid planning, books, uniforms, tools, transportation, on the job training, and job placement services. It seeks to raise self esteem and long term economic vitality for recipients and their families. For more information, call 709-3613.
