Sheriff Johnson counters union discrimination charges
Will County Sheriff John Johnson claims to back organized labor while filing a discrimination suit against AFSCME Local 1028. He faces ILRB hearings on December 21 after alleging antiunion actions in his office, including removal of a union enrollment card from a jail cook. Local AFSCME officials call the charges frivolous and say the sheriff is seeking to cloud the issue.
