Steger Youth Faces Charges After False Shooting Report

He later confessed to obtaining a .22 caliber pistol for defense against threats from other juveniles, and the incident was ruled as a false report. A 14 year old youth from Calumet City was charged in a juvenile petition with four residential burglaries in Hazel Crest between Nov 24 and 29. Police said the former Hazel Crest resident was arrested while walking in the Chateaux subdivision where he previously lived.

Park Forest Man Charged After Violent Dispute
Theophilus White Sr., 46, of 333 Farragut St., Park Forest, was charged with cocaine possession and four offenses after a Nov. 24 arrest following a fight with his girlfriend. Police found three small bags of cocaine among his clothes and said the street value was $30. He faces charges of damaging property, battery and attempted arson after windows, TVs and mirrors were broken totaling $1,400 in damage. A witness said White poured flammable liquid on the front yard and lit it.

Robbery at Hazel Crest Park Lot Ends with Injury
Police report a 7:15 a.m. armed robbery in the 3000 block of 171st Street where two youths approached a 17 year old, tore a gold chain from his neck, and struck him with a handgun. The victim was treated for head injuries at South Suburban Hospital and released.
