From Farm to Head Start Advocate in Momence
Dora Cadena grew up with migrant workers and now coordinates Grace Migrant Head Start School in Momence. She oversees 12 staff caring for 45 children aged six weeks to six years from migrant families across Crete Chicago Heights South Holland and other Will County areas. The program runs June to October to support families while in the fields and provides health services nutrition and childcare to 35 migrant families.
