Forty 4-Hers win grand champion rosettes at Suburban Cook County fair
Forty 4-H members from the South Suburbs earned grand champion rosettes at the July 25 Suburban Cook County 4-H Fair in New Lenox. Winners included Catherine Warner of Homewood for foods with cranberry muffins and oatmeal raisin cookies, Jennifer Olson of South Holland for vegetable gardening and small pets, and Patricia Fahey of Palos Park for fashion revue. Judges awarded blue, red and white ribbons. grand champions come from blue winners and receive small monetary awards funded by the Illinois Department of Agriculture. The fair, held since 1955, features family activities and showcases projects that build lifelong skills.
