A 1:35 a.m. robbery at First National Bank 20900 Western Ave involved a youth with a pellet gun taking $40 from a woman. Olympia Fields police later apprehended a 15-year-old Chicago Heights youth in the bank parking lot and anticipate charges.
Police report a dense string of incidents including theft of two gold rings a chain and a bracelet from a Thomas Court residence Aug 1 none of which showed forced entry. A back yard tent was stolen in Farmington. cigarettes were taken after two suspects broke a store door. Multiple arrests followed including Christopher Escobedo on a county warrant and James Richardson on a traffic warrant. A 15-year-old from Glenwood faces armed robbery charges related to a White Hen heist. Additional break ins involved homes garages and a restaurant, with several residents charged for various offenses including driving violations possession of drugs and battery.
Two boxes of cigarettes were stolen from a Speedway Gas Station in the 2000 block of University Parkway on July 29 after a glass door was broken to gain entry.
A Will County resident in the 28600 block of South Yates reported harassing calls. A Tuesday hit and run on Crete Monee Road east of Pinewood Lane involved a pickup striking a car that had hit a guardrail. Daniel B. Vucovich was charged with aggravated assault and reckless discharge after firing a shotgun at his kitchen wall as children screamed. Two Hazel Crest men, about 18, said a masked gunman robbed them of groceries near 167th Street and Anthony Avenue, fleeing in a gray Lincoln Town Car. Two juveniles, ages 13 and 16, were taken into custody near a Dixie Highway pay phone around 11:30 p.m.
A car stolen from Motel 6 parking lot was recovered a few blocks away with the ignition lock punched and no other damage. Martin Angulo, 22, was charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance, and failure to signal after a stop at 175th and Halsted. he also held an outstanding Riverdale warrant. Thomas Steinfatt, 30, was charged with domestic battery after allegedly grabbing a family member by the neck. A Franklin Park semi-trailer stolen was found in the 900 block of West 171st Street, emptied of ladders. John Wright, 43, was charged with no valid registration and revoked license after a stop near 175th and Lathrop.
