Six openings remain for a September bus trip sponsored by the Golden-Age Club. The 14 day journey runs September 7 to 20, costing 875 dollars with transportation motels two to a room and sightseeing. Highlights include Montreal Quebec Niagara Falls Gaspe Peninsula whale cruise shrines small fishing villages and the Adirondack Mountains. District 206 will purge temporary records of Bloom High School class of 1989. Students may pick up records at Bloom High School on 10th Street and Dixie Highway between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, August 8 to August 12. After Friday, records will be destroyed.
Senior Citizens Center at 1327 Ellis Ave in Ford Heights will host free style meals for 60 plus and their spouses each Friday in August and September at 11 a.m. The Community Nutrition Network runs the program with a suggested $1 donation and food stamps accepted. Balmoral Park Racetrack in Crete will host a health fair and blood drive on the Aug 19 race day. Balmoral and St James Hospital and Health Centers co sponsor along with a Heartland Blood Centers donation center.
