Tax relief highlights end of election year session
The spring session produced a $35 million expansion of prescription drug aid for seniors and disabled and a $35 million three year state earned income tax credit plus a $280 million one year property tax rebate funded by the tobacco settlement. Lawmakers differed over Democrats prescription drug relief and the permanency of tax breaks while touting the circuit breaker expansion as the centerpiece.
