Man Surrenders in Attempted Murder Case Against Publisher
A 67-year-old Dalton man turned himself in to Homewood police accompanied by his attorney, facing an attempted murder warrant for allegedly firing up to six shots at Lee Anglin, publisher of the Journal News Group, outside a Ridge Road office. Anglin, uninjured, linked the shooting to possible anger over a column criticizing Edward Vrdolyak. Sallas, a felon and former office worker for Vrdolyak, had a 1991 federal sentence for conspiracy in a Miami border-grease case.
