Patchwork Garden quilt marks I&M Canal sesquicentennial
Heritage Quilters Guild plans its largest show at Joliet Junior College with 84 quilters, led by Jeanne Meeks. Her I&M Canal quilt honors Irish immigrants and the 150th anniversary, weaving song lyrics and canal history into eight traditional blocks. The year‑long celebration spans museums, parks, and a Navy Pier kickoff, with events statewide.
