Matteson breaks ground on new village hall
Village President Mark Stricker led a ground breaking for Matteson s new municipal hall with officials and residents in attendance. The project aims to open a business district along I 57 and includes a TIF district called Matteson Commons and a 205th Street bridge to unite neighborhoods separated by I 57. The environmentally sensitive design features extra insulation for lower heating and cooling costs and a focus on smart growth as architects from Prisco Serena Sturm and Croxton Collaborative Associated attended the ceremony. The new building will be on 205th Street south of Vollmer Road, west of the Matteson Police Station, replacing the current village hall on 3625 W 215th Street.
