GI Forum opens Alsip area veterans outreach office
The American GI Forum Veterans Outreach Program opened an Alsip office to aid veterans and families with employment and services. Over 70 officials and veterans attended the open house at 5038 W. 127th St. Executive director James Jazo noted strong turnout and future referrals. Jazo cited aging veterans and downsizing as driving demand for local job placement, housing plans, health and legal aid, and education. The group maintains a website www.vop.org and plans a June job fair, with further Alsip pages to follow. contact (708) 371-9800 for details.
