A curious inland flow on Cephalonia Greece shows a river of ocean water rising from four coastal inlets and moving up to two miles inland through a broken rocky channel until it vanishes in limestone. Its subterranean path likely returns seawater to the sea below the surface.
Thomas Johnson colored, charged with the murder of C. P. Snead of King William County, is held in the city jail awaiting King William sheriff transfer. Snead, a lumberman and Republican leader, killed on the Etna Mills road. body found with head crushed, pockets rifled, horse grazing nearby. Bloodhounds traced trail to a former Johnson residence. he had vanished until recently brought to the city as a suspicious character.
Norfolk special. Rev. Harry W. Jones former Navy chaplain acquitted by Corporation Court on grand larceny charge after a $60 check to A. J. Gammon of Citizens Bank proved insufficient funds. He says he will sue the Navy Department and naval chaplains over a alleged conspiracy to injure him and reveal a corruption fund to lift salaries through Congress. Commonwealth's Attorney Tilton urged jurors to draw their own conclusions. Dr. Jones thanked the jury.
H P Barber manager of the Broad Street branch of R L Barnes Safe and Lock Company was arrested on five counts of larceny. He posted no bond and was jailed. Barber collected company funds without reporting to head office. His Richmond society wife, married in August, was prostrated by the news and vows to repay the loss.
Richmond jurors found Henry C. Hechler not guilty on a charge of violating the Barksdale pure election law. Newton L. Gentry, his son-in-law, faced no verdict as the case was nolle pressed after the acquittal was announced. Hechler’s treasurer nomination followed a fierce county political struggle and his earlier removal from office last winter for alleged malfeasance.
Henry O'Dell, nine, son of William O'Dell, was accidentally shot by a neighbor boy while playing with a loaded shotgun. The O'Dell boy suffered a mangled thigh and died minutes after the injury.

Thom and others.
Bolton, 24, of Roseland Nelson County, lies in critical condition at University Hospital from a bullet wound to the left breast. He fired in the presence of his beloved after she left him for another, telling her he tried to send it through his heart. His father brought him to the city. the name of the young woman is withheld. The girl is ill at home in Variety Mills.
Robert Wilson age forty unmarried committed death by own action at his Spottsylvania County home by shooting himself in the head with a double barreled shotgun. He is survived by a number of relatives. The reason for the deed is unknown.

Amanda Hirst Bell widow of W H Bell dies at her Kite William County country home born 1834 in Huntington Pa married 1854 lived in Altoona Pa until 1872 then King William County. Mrs Robert L Bruce dies at her home Medlock in the Green Springs area Louisa County.
In Heathsville Miss Eme Edwards and Raymond Mothershead of Washington wed in Westmoreland. At West Point W A Taylor married Miss Sadie Willimg of Lancaster County. In Fredericksburg James Cropp wed Miss Queen Ellington of Stafford County at Trinity Church. In Bristol Tenn Madeline H Reed wed Bozel E Haydon. couple to reside in Florida. In Petersburg Miss Rose Stephenson wed William Waverly Townes at Grace Episcopal Church with family in attendance.
Rev. J. A. Givens aged 65 of Romney West Virginia and a deputy in the general Episcopal convention fell while alighting from a street car and sustained severe injuries.
Tazewell Special reports Samuel Edwards a young local man was run over and killed instantly by a freight train while attempting to cross near Keystone West Virginia. The incident occurred late yesterday and authorities are investigating circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
A fire near the Cumberland Valley Railroad freight depot destroyed 7000 gallons of kerosene and gasoline belonging to Cooper Brothers. Several large tanks exploded. one top was hurled hundreds of feet. The blast shook the town and caused minor injuries during the panic. Cooper Brothers face a 1500 loss.
Governor Swanson received engrossed episcopal resolutions from the House of Bishops of the General Episcopal Convention for courtesy in using the Hall of Delegates. Every bishop appended his autograph, a unique record, and the Governor intends to frame the paper for Virginia.
