Lexington notices report the death of Mrs. Fanny Wright who was burned when her clothing caught fire while burning leaves at home. She ran into the street where bystanders sprayed water. She died shortly after. A son and five daughters survive.

Deaths in the Virginias Roanoke notes
Roanoke reports the deaths of Mrs. A. Barlow at a city hospital after an appendectomy. She was 62, widow of a coal operator, and survived by six sons and two daughters. Also in Roanoke Mrs. Jennie B. Aiyani died at home after weeks of paralysis, leaving three sons from a former marriage and two sisters, one in his decries and one in Atlanta.

Moonshiners Plead Guilty In Danville
Sixteen indictments for illicit whisky traffic led to twelve moonshiners and blockaders pleading guilty. Most were fined 100 dollars and jailed 30 days. Lynchburg Killings Reflect Turmoil in Richmond Case
In Richmond Jack Traynham fatally stabbed Edgar Turner with a knife on August 24 after a midday quarrel. Traynham died in the electric chair in Lynchburg on Friday. Both men were Black and worked at a local livery stable. the confrontation led to Turner’s death by stab wound.
