Massillon asylum expansion faces delays amid material shortages
The state hospital in Massillon will not be ready to accept patients from Cleveland Toledo and Columbus until mid October. By November 1 the facility should house about 750 inmates from fourteen counties with transfers starting this fall. George McLaughlin, linked to attorney J A McLaughlin, resigns to study civil engineering at Athens. A patient named Myers from Navarre fled but was found and allowed to stay with relatives. Wheat and oats from the hospital farm totaled 414 and 914 bushels respectively.

The Rev A W Mann of Gambier assisted by Rev C M Roberts conducted a service for deaf mutes at St Timothy’s church in Massillon and vicinity.
