Obituary notes for John McSweeny and Catharine Zuber
John McSweeny died at his Akron home from apoplexy at age 47. His funeral will be held at 1 30 p m Sunday at the residence of Mr and Mrs J K Merwin in Massillon, with interment in Massillon cemetery. He is survived by a wife and three sons. Catharine Zuber, 50, wife of Charles Zuber, died at her State street home after a five month illness from a paralytic stroke. She leaves a husband and five children. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

The city of the dead is fifty one years old with a population near five thousand. The oldest grave marker bears the Morrison name. The cemetery’s record shows 115 burials in a single year. Ernest Wissmar of 197 West Tremont Street Massillon died of heart failure at 5 40 PM after a month of illness. He had lived in Massillon for about fifty years and left a varied life including seven years at sea and service in the navy during the Mexican War. He was born in Loewack Baden in 1820 and married Isabella Bryson in New York City in 1915. He leaves four children Joseph and Erocest surviving with Joseph Wissmar living in Norwalk. Funeral services are set for 2 30 PM Sunday at his West Tremont street home conducted by Massillon Commandery Knights Templar.
