Death of C A Arthur Follows Stroke at Home in New York
Ex president Chester A Arthur died at 5 o clock Thursday morning at his residence 123 Lexington avenue after a stroke. He had been conscious Tuesday and signed letters but declined. Dr George Peters said death resulted from cerebral apoplexy with paralysis of the right side. Funeral rites to be arranged by Undertaker Davidson. Arthur was 56, widower, with children Chester Allan 22 and Miss Nellie 14.
