Crossing collision injures engineer on freight run
At about 7 pm a W&LE train and a B&O line freight collided at a crossing near Toledo. Engineer Fred Lamb of B&O suffered a foot gash. both crews remained uninjured. Engines were damaged but movable. no serious injuries. Lamb was treated at Mt Airy hospital and to return home soon.

Crossings Cause Repeated Accidents at Local Line
At the Norwalk area crossing, the Wheeling & Lake Erie engine was lightly damaged and sent to shop for a week’s repair, while the B&O locomotive moved to Lorain shops for heavy repairs. A year ago a B&O freight struck the Wheeling & Lake Erie eastbound passenger train, killing brakeman Hawley.

A Canton Akron Railway work train collision with interurban car No 16 near Navarre Justus left Ralph Vickery with a fractured left ankle and brought by ambulance to Massillon. Conductor George Barnhart suffered serious ankle injuries. Motorman Charles Mowery and others also sustained wounds as the crew and seven foreigners were treated at Massillon and Mt Airy hospital.

Cleveland Patients Transferred To Massillon Hospital
About 100 patients from Cleveland state hospitals were moved by a five car special train to Massillon, where they were placed in cottages as space at the Cleveland hospital remains crowded. The transfer follows a prior move and a new cottage is nearing completion. Trustees will meet next Tuesday to review annual reports and hospital finances.

Guild Aids Sixty Families Through Needlework Guild
The Masaillon branch of the Needlework Guild of America reports sixty families assisted this year with underwear stockings towels wash cloths and small articles. Six new applications were received. distributed goods were limited by blankets shortfall and large sized undergarments demand. Donations included forty one wash cloths fifty six handkerchiefs eleven towels and a gift to Rescue Mission and Charity Batch school.
