It promotes a free 250 page illustrated catalogue, samples of check suiting, and taffeta silks, inviting customers to refashion old furs and enjoy savings.
A Pittsburg PA catalog note from Jos Horne and Co promotes stamped linens and needlework designs for women. It details white linen doilies, centerpieces, cushion tops, Renaissance patterns, and sample services by mail with low prices and a fall winter catalogue offer.
In Jerusalem on November 2 Emperor William telegraphed the pope to report a donation of sacred ground for Catholic use and renewed his vow to serve the Lord. The Marquise de Merinville formerly Miss Mary Caldwell donated 5000 dollars to the Catholic University rector Monsignor Conaty to establish a scholarship in Caldwell hall of divinity for the Peoria diocese. The gift honors her nephew Waldemar Conrad Baron Von Gedewits, son of her sister Lena Caldwell, who financed the divinity chapel as a memorial to their parents.

Edward Collins, a prominent young man, was accidentally shot by his friend Morgan Lewis while hunting near Linden Tree, 1½ miles north of Canab Dover. The incident occurred during a hunting outing in which heavy injuries were reported.
