Walking Jewelry Theft Suspect Held for Identification
Akron police detained a young man carrying a half peck of watches and jewelry after a car ride from Akron. He is suspected of robbing a Newcomerstown jewelry store and boarded the car near a Barnum Bailey circus stop. The haul included ten watches, fifty eight rings, eight chains, eight charms and two dangerous revolvers. The suspect, seen as a possible crook, was taken to the police station for identification.

First Car of Coal Mined Amid Non-Union Tension
In Steubenville Ohio on Friday about seventy five non union workers were at Plum Run mine. The first car of coal was mined after noon said to be slate filled. Twelve guards and fourteen non union men quit and were transported by union officers. About eighty more strikebreakers arrived from the west. The company was warned by the prosecuting attorney that the Aikin law will be used to raid houses if speakeasies continue. A Cleveland correspondent was served a whitecap notice and banned from property.
