Patients Transferred From State Hospitals to Massillon
One hundred fifty four patients were moved Friday morning from Cleveland and Columbus state hospitals to Massillon. A special Pennsylvania train from Orrville delivered eighty Massillon patients, with Dr. Howard supervising Cleveland cases and Superintendent E. E. Carpenter supervising Columbus cases. Instances of mild resistance occurred during car transfer but all patients reached Massillon, pending continued residency at the local hospital due to overcrowding in the district.
