Hospital News and Sports At Richville Institute

Pupils from Richville Avenue School distributed wild flowers to patients at the hospital. Over 150 patients from Cleveland and Columbus institutions will be received next week. Tours include new cottages, infirmary lawn, and a pending hospital board meeting about appropriations.

Mrs Anna Hornberger 66 Dies After Pneumonia

Mrs Anna Hornberger wife of Emanuel Hornberger long resident here died Thursday evening at 7 00 after pneumonia She was 66 Funeral services will be held Sunday from the residence at 1 30 and at 2 00 Rev L H Barry will conduct the services at Myers Read the want columns daily toil.

East Ohio Woman's Home Missionary Society Meet Here

The East Ohio conference of the Methodist Episcopal church will hold its annual meeting at First M E Church on May 17 and 18. About seventy five delegates are expected with a program including an address of welcome by Rev L H Stewart a devotional service led by Mrs C Fox vocal solos by Ida Stewart and Harry Conrad and a Mothers Jewel talk by Mrs W Graham plus a duet by Mr and Mrs J E Johns. The conference runs from Saturday morning through Sunday evening.

Safe Blown Open in Navarre Grocery Raid

Robbers dynamited the safe at Loew and Swaller’s grocery in Navarre, forcing the front door with a crow bar. About $100 to $150 and some old coins were taken. The explosion woke few, as Navarre had no night watch since the office was abolished, and the burglars escaped before morning.

Reports from St Pierre indicate the town was engulfed in flames and ashes after Mt Pelee eruption. French cruiser Suchet could not reach survivors amid dense ruin while wreckage and corpses filled the wharves. Casualties estimated at 40,000 with many sailors dead. World records set at Navarre field day

Navarre Ohio May 10 field day drew Massillon and Canton pupils. Wendell Baker of Boston reportedly ran 80 yards in seconds to set a world record while Canton high school’s George Cook clocked 53 yards in 81 seconds in a sprint. Events included 85 yard dash won by Cook, shot put by Crevoisie, hammer throw by Crevoisie, and numerous foot races and contests.
