Suspect in Country Illegally Indicted for Rape
A Stark County grand jury indicted 26 year old Massillon man Juan Leon Gomez of 1327 Woodland Ave SE on a first-degree rape charge involving an 11 year old girl. He could face 10 years to life in prison. The arrest followed a May 1 report after the girl left home about 1 am amid ongoing sexual assault inquiries. The mother reported the girl’s pregnancy on April 29.

Ohio House OKs 69 Billion Two Year State Budget
The Ohio House approved a 69 billion two year state budget sending it to the Senate. The plan eliminates or cuts income taxes by income level, raises the minimum teacher salary to 30000, adds 125 million to education, and boosts foster care funding by 60 million over two years. It also adds 21.8 million for higher education next year and 20 million in 2021. Householder says the budget protects vulnerable residents while investing in the state's future. The vote was 89 to 6 with mixed party support and a rare unanimous committee vote previously.
