Wind Storm Damages Stark County Buildings and Trees
Stark county reports detail extensive wind damage on Tuesday afternoon. Samuel Sterns bank barn roof and a portion of his residence were struck in the storm between the city and Richville. A Maynard Clementz four room dwelling under construction was wrecked, loss around 500 dollars. At the state hospital a thousand dollars in damage occurred, roofs ripped and tile work displaced. Nine trees fell in George Dobson’s orchard, and a barn shifted from its foundation. Telegraph lines suffered heavy disruption, with repairs underway by Central Union and Farmers’ Telephone. Additional damage occurred near Navarre and Mt Eaton, including a Bellet warehouse roof torn off and Dr Graber’s buggy overturned but occupants unharmed.

One Man Killed As Train Crash Sinks Through Sugarcreek Bridge
A southbound freight train crashed through a Sugar creek bridge near Strasburg at noon Tuesday, killing Charles Devene from East St. Louis who was stealing a ride. Eleven ore cars fell, the engine and another car cleared the gap. Wilbur E. B. Wray of Alliance survived severe injuries, T. B. Warren of Wheeling escaped. Track repairs unlikely for two days. Passengers ferried across, then resumed by awaiting train. Wray described the horror, pinched between cars as they plunged, while his companion died.
