End of MacQuearyism in Canton Parish Rebuilds

In Canton on March 23 St. Pauls Episcopal Church returns to new leadership as Rev Edward L Kemp resumes command after two years of MacQueary rule. Affected finances include unpaid salary and a mortgaged lot. Bishop Leonard to preach on Good Friday as the parish moves to elect vestry on Easter Monday and restore church stability.

Thieves Loot Businesses as City Seethes Over Primaries

Burglars entered multiple business houses last night through damaged doors and windows, stealing goods including $300 from tailor R Bohlen while other shops suffered smaller losses. In politics, John N Ramasy wins Republican mayoral nomination, Turner secures solicitor race, while Democrats re nominate Mayor Blake amid talks of a third term split. Local road surveyors push Ton new Canton Massillon link with right of way tours to residents along Cleveland Avenue Plum Street and South Street to the Massillon road near the hospital.

St Josephs Church Property Sold for 3900

Dr Stafford pastor sold the Metzler property at corner of South and East streets to Attorney O E Young this afternoon. The lot measures 147 feet on East street and 964 feet on South. A church and residence will be built on the site with an estimated cost near 35000.

Was the railroad in fault in Navarre wreck inquest

Coroner Openheimer conducted the Navarre inquest into the W and L E wreck that killed Postal Clerk William T McLean. Witnesses including David Day attorney for the railroad and W M Roach attorney for McLean’s parents testified about a broken switch rod and possible causes. Additional testimony covered switch condition and prior maintenance. May nominate Gustave Tofel for mayor the next day in newspaper notes.
