Massillon Freight Shipment Up From 1897 Levels
February report by Agent Hansen of the W. and L. E. railway shows freight shipments from Massillon rose by 728 027 pounds versus February 1897. Coal shipments were 12 070 tons, miners idle due to lack of orders and few empty cars. Passenger traffic increased notably in the last two months.

Eastside Burglary Strikes Home of Absent Goodharts
Thieves entered the East Main Street residence of Mr and Mrs George Goodhart while they were in Thomasville Georgia taking two suits of clothes an overcoat and other garments. The house was left in disorder with drawers and dressers emptied but some silverware remained in the head of the stairs and sideboard. Alarmed by a pried window Mrs S Hattery noted marks. Albert Shaidnagle oversees the property and Marshal Markel was alerted with Shaidnagle at the house this afternoon attempting to restore order.
