Reports from Havana via Mascotte describe the sinking of a Cuban schooner by a Spanish gunboat off Puerto Padre near Gibara. West Virginians Sentenced for Concealed Weapons

Wasuixatox March 20 Messrs J Q Whro and Ira Greathouse who came from West Virginia to negotiate with greengoodsmen A P Ail and J R Hickman have been sentenced to six months for carrying concealed weapons. Hickman also got six months for the same offense, but Hill was acquitted. Judge Miter condemned the jury and ordered Hill and Hickman held for conspiracy trial.

Reports from Wasnmnarox on March 20 say Secretary Gresham seeks recall of Lorin A Thurston Hawaiian minister to Washington citing persona non grata status. Verdict awards $5,000 to Mrs Hada in fire case

In a supreme court ruling Mrs Hada receives $5,000 from the American Gincose company after their works were destroyed by a fire on April 12, 1894. Her husband was among 12 Polish laborers who died. Three similar suits are listed for trial.

The Danish steamship Horsa leaves Savannah with 197 negro emigrants, from infant to elder, heading for Liberia aboard a well equipped party carrying farming gear and seed.
