The marriage of Miss Ada Siffert to Mr Charles Wagoner was held at the home of Rev W O Siffert with 150 to 175 guests. The ceremony was by Rev A Curl of Leon, Ashtabula county. Fire in Tenement at Hester and Allen Streets
A morning blaze destroyed a tenement at Hester and Allen streets. Fifty one families occupied the building. the fire started in three locations and is believed incendiary. Nineteen people were wounded with three likely to die. The dead include Barnett Jaegerson and his two daughters, with others still believed trapped in the ruins.

Cincinnati Shoe Firm Fails Amid Creditors’ Pressure
J and A Simkinson shoe manufacturers of East Fourth Street, Cincinnati, failed this morning for about five hundred thousand dollars. Creditors are mainly eastern firms. In Columbus it is reported John R. McLean has secured a controlling interest in the Cincinnati Commercial Gazette and will install a new staff.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians hosted a St Patrick’s Day celebration in Music Hall to benefit St Joseph’s church. Dr D J Stafford opened with an Irish-theme address, Gen I R Sherwood spoke on the Irish Soldier in the War, and L C Macpherson discussed Irish Poets. The event featured a green themed decor, an elegant supper, and performances by the St Mary’s Church choir and various readers and reciters.
