Anna Scott Sues Adams for Assault and Battery

Anna Scott, Salvation Army worker recently acquitted in a separate case, sues Fred W. Adams for $1,000 claiming assault and battery and insult at the W and L railway ticket office. An attachment was issued on Adams property in Wellman street. Adams is now Canal Dover rail agent. The suit references July 9, 1895 events and earlier threats to prosecute. Bond posted by J W McClymonds.

President Ratchford Announces 61 Cent Mining Rate

President Ratchford of the Ohio Mine Workers issues a circular urging constituents to accept sixty-one cents per ton as the Ohio rate while Pittsburg remains at seventy cents. The curb is expected to hold through the year.

Ohio Canal routes considered for ship canal study
