Detour as Richville Drive SW closes for resurfacing

Massillon travelers face a detour on Richville Drive SW as a major resurfacing project begins. The road is closed from Southway Street SW to Nave Road SE until June 14, weather permitting. The closure affects a portion of Richville Drive and ends in early summer as planned.

Century-old Edgefield Elementary to be demolished in Stark County

The Stark County Educational Service Center plans to raze the Edgefield Elementary building at 2100 38th St. NW in Plain Township. Built in 1915, the three story structure housed ESC offices from 1992 until earlier this year. Ray Bertolini Trucking of Akron won the $127,000 demolition contract after bidding among 10 bidders. The former site will be cleared as operations moved to the Advanced Technology Center on Stark State College campus in Jackson Township.
