Sheriff Krider sent Mike Harrington to the penitentiary for three years and Mike Quigley for two for crimes of horse stealing and pocket picking. A Marlboro road change petition preferred by Frank Eby would shift the route about ninety rods, benefiting him but harming others. Mrs Stolder and child taken to infirmary after her desertion. parents reside in Erie. Stark county's refund share $20,281.89. New Berlin couple Daniel Reed Ida Bordner wed. Canton residents William Gonser Sarah I Bucher wed. Executors named for local estates.
Oscar Coss argues Massillon should build a central opera house with adjacent stores and offices. He outlines a two tier design seating about 1000, 60 ft by 150 ft lots, rear alley access, separate box offices for lower and gallery seating, and steam heating. Total cost estimated at 35 000 to 40 000 with opera house 20 000 to 25 000.
Humberger returns from Washington with assurance from Major McKinley that the postoffice remains in Congressman Warwick's block for another term. A meeting of stakeholders drew no contest and the lease terms will change from the old one dollar per car to a rate akin to nearby lessees. Independent locates new drop boxes for communications and ads at several city spots including Hering, Wagner Rauber, and the Waverly Hotel.
