Notice to contractors sealed proposals due at the clerk of Musenr township Stark county July 27 at noon for building a school house in a district. Each bid must include a disinterested guaranty and be accompanied by a bid bond. Specifications must be started separately and labor costs stated. The board may reject any or all bids by order of the Board of Education.
An early 20th century notice announces the Pittsburrgh female College and ASL Conservatory of Maiustes offering healthful attendance and comforts. It states an opening date in September and invites prospective students to obtain full information at the Westside district.

Miss Oppenheimer daughter of a Liberty street clothier and a noted Allegheny society figure died when a wagon overturned near Harmony John Gredin’s, four feet above a railroad bank. Ten cars passed over the body, cutting her in two and severing an arm. Several friends were injured but survived with bruises and minor fractures.
John Bredin, 30, son of Judge Bredin living on Union Avenue, Allegheny, drowned in the Allegheny River after an attempt to cross a bridge near Ninth Street. A toll keeper and bystanders watched as he vanished in the current, with boats patrolling the river all day and the body not recovered by Wednesday morning. Friends doubt suicide. the river’s current is believed to have carried him downstream.
A South Dakota convention adopted articles on the rights of safe public buildings, financial controls, and judicial district expansion. It approved provisions for executive officers, oath administration, and court machinery as outlined in the Sioux Falls constitution. Separately, Beech Creek Coal stockholders bought out over 83 million in assets, making the Vandernhilt family sole Beech Creek railroad owners pending senator Thru’s return from Europe.
Thomas Edison testified before Referee Becher on electricity dangers and whether 1000 volts can cause instantaneous death.
