A young adult in Stark County is identified as Ohio’s first confirmed measles case since 2017. The Ohio Department of Health says the person traveled to a state with confirmed cases, with no identifying details released. Nationwide, 28 states report measles cases amid several outbreaks.

Detour for downtown Lincoln Way from Erie Street to First Street NE is slated to start on or about July 22. Mayor Kathy Catazaro-Perry noted the Canton firm Central Allied Enterprises is on site for preliminary work and cautioned the project may face delays. The city aims to complete by October 25 despite the late start and potential hurdles.
Lincoln Way will close for about three months starting around July 22 between First Street NW and Erie Street for streetscape work. Westbound traffic detours south onto Third Street SE to Tremont Avenue and north on First Street NW back to Lincoln Way, while eastbound traffic turns onto First Street NW then Tremont Avenue and Third Street SE.
