Armistice extends as Linares negotiates surrender near Santiago
Dispatch from Dauntless notes armistice until Saturday to allow Linares to confer with Blanco and Madrid. In Cuarceston South Carolina journalists reported the transports Columbia and Yale, carrying General Miles and staff with seventeen hundred reinforcements for Shafter, did not sail until two p m today.
