No trouble getting a jury as tailor made suit trial
Akron readers learn of Pretty Anna Beck who wore a faulty tailor made suit to court yesterday. Judge Paterson presided as the jury of staid citizens with two expert tailors tested the garment by patting seams pulling down the jacket and brushing creases from the skirt. The suit cost Miss Beck 75 dollars, the price sought by plaintiff Joseph Wein, a ladies' tailor, who claimed victory as the trial ended with tears in Miss Beck's eyes and vindication for the tailor.

Fire at Richardson hotel claims women dead and injures many
At Lowell Massachusetts on January 27 a fire gutted the Richardson hotel. Three fires were observed and seven people were injured while many more were treated. All identified victims so far are women including a pastry cook. Fire started in the kitchen from an overheated stove and spread to several floors as guests fled in smoke. Firemen and police rescued numerous guests amid uncertainty about fatalities in early progress.
