Delegates of the Ohio State Good Roads Association voted to ask the state legislature for 500000 dollars to fund road construction in 1906 and 1000000 for 1907. The convention urged national aid and urged revisions to road taxing, labor use, and administration, with a new state highway structure and county machinery access. A permanent organization was formed with Martin Dodge as president and J Y Bassel as secretary.

Corwin D. Bachtel cashier and William Davis vice president of the defunct Canton State bank were reindicted for embezzling about thirty thousand dollars in loans made without lawful warrants and for misstatements totaling about three hundred thousand dollars. TAGGART APPEALS TO GOURT FOR CUSTODY HEARING
Wooster Ohio January 20 Captain Taggart, through his attorneys, filed for a hearing to change the decree in the famous divorce case seeking full custody of the two boys Culver and Ednore. He alleges Mrs Taggart has disobeyed court orders by blocking visitation and moving the children out of state. The motion will be heard on the 22nd with Taggart claiming ongoing noncompliance and concealment of the boys outside the jurisdiction.

Fire at Ashland Injures Two. Origin Unknown
A fire at Myers & Brothers plant Ashland caused $15,000 to $20,000 in losses on the first floor. Foreman William Linard, 38, suffered a scalp wound, broken shoulder and internal injuries and is in serious condition. Fred Shearer was slightly injured. The blaze’ origin unknown. no other details. At the Detroit Mine disaster near Charleston West Virginia the United Mine Workers scale committee met after five hours in secret session amid gloom.
