The Wilmington Tin Plate Company is incorporated by Joliet promoters to operate independently. Wilmington, twelve miles south of Joliet, donated eighty acres for a six mill plant valued at $150,000. Annual output is set at 135,000 boxes with 400 workers planned.

Ida Price died after a woman’s room fire in a West Sixth street flat. She named William Kennedy, living with her, as the assailant who locked the door and tried to burn her. Kennedy was at large and later arrested as the case developed.
Orders from the adjutant general direct Companies A B G I L and M of the Seventh United States Infantry to move to New York at once and board the Transport Mobile for the Philippines via the Suez Canal.
