He calls for a 10 percent general price advance, a universal mine system for all mines, a uniform day’s work for outside labor and eight hours, a seven cent per ton straight differential for pick versus machine mining, daily drivers wages raised to 225 dollars with 100 percent increase, no contract clause forcing powder purchases from employers, and adoption of the check-off system in all competitive districts. Robbins opposes, calling the scale nonsense as the session ends for the night.

Pittsburg Feb 1 The Amalga mated Association of Iron Steel and Tin Workers signs an agreement with America Steel Hoop Company and Republic Iron and Steel Company preventing mill shutdowns next summer during wage talks. A three year scale may be set at Wheeling in April, and salaried district presidents will replace mill committees to settle all disputes.

Aged Vendor Loses Money After Boarding House Theft
A 77 Center Street colored vendor of horse radish feared footpads and handed over his earnings to a boarding house cook who gave a receipt then disappeared. The seller, Mr Hammond, later recovered the receipt but found the money gone. Police allege the suspect, a woman, left Addison yesterday. saloonkeeper Walter McNeary was questioned as part of the investigation. The mayor expects recovery of the funds.
