Canton residents face 39 count drug indictment in Cleveland

Fifteen people are accused of smuggling cocaine and heroin from Mexico and California to Stark County. Named defendants include Miguel Reyes-Perez of Canton and Louis Dunson Jr. of Canton among others. An arrest warrant remains outstanding for Louis Danson III who is at large after Tuesday morning arrests.

Canal Fulton Fire Department Offers Safe Sitter Classes

Canal Fulton Fire Department will run Safe Sitter sessions for sixth to eighth graders to sharpen first aid and safety skills and teach basic business concepts. Capt. Shawn Yerian and NW Fire Explorers instructors lead the 54 hour course, funded by a SummerTime Kids grant, with eight students in the latest class and more sessions planned.

Babysitting by the numbers

Care.com Babysitter Survey shows 50 percent would pay at least three extra dollars per hour for last minute help. Sixty six percent would pay more for safety trained sitters. Forty one percent spend over one thousand dollars annually. Eighty three percent favor above minimum wage pay. Eighty one percent rely on extended family. Sixty four percent find it stressful to pick a trusted sitter. Seventy four percent hire a sitter monthly. Sixty eight percent want sitter focus not on their phones. Date-night daytime and after-school sitters are top hires. Main tasks include feeding, bedtime, reading, games, and approved media choices.

Bowling Green student completes internship at McKinley Air

Seneca Doty, a 19 year old aviation major at Bowling Green State University from Dalton, finished McKinley Air's first college internship. She worked the line servicing aircraft and the customer service desk while flying her grandparents to the private FBO in Dalton.
