Dingler to join Twenty-ninth Infantry for Philippines service

Max Dingler and Miss Florence Wendling of 64 Duncan Street marry and announce his departure on Saturday to join his regiment at Fort Sheridan. Enlisted last May, he returns on a ten days furlough and expects embarkation for the Philippines within four weeks for a two year service, while Mrs. Dingler remains in the city at the bride’s parents’ home.

Postmaster Koons Receives Official Notice at Noon

Postmaster L A Koons at Massillon received official notice from Washington that another carrier is to be added with effect October 1. John F Thompson will be nominated as the present substitute. Ralph Snyder stands second and will be named substitute. Redistricting will reduce to eleven carriers. Koons had sought two extra helpers but the department granted one.

Canton-Massillon Electric Street Railway Union Formed

Canton and Massillon street railway workers organized a new union with 56 members. It will be Canton Massillon Electric Street Railway Union No. 211 under the Amalgamated Association of Street Railway Employes of America. Officers installed include President John Oldfield Canton and other Canton Massillon leaders W S Reinhart recording secretary and Adam Felix financial secretary.

Amusement Hall Delays Dances At State Hospital

The state hospital plans Friday dances to resume in September in the dining hall until the amusement hall is finished. Delays in frescoing and floor work keep completion uncertain, with scaffolding ready for artists though late arrival slows progress. Building depends on next winter's legislature funding and emergency board authority.
