Mrs James Smith aged 67 between Massillon and Navarre died Tuesday morning at 2 60 o’clock following a brief heart failure after mourning her husband’s March death from a buggy accident. Survived by four children Harvey Frank Olive and a son in Montana. Funeral Saturday afternoon.
North Lawrence on April 3 reports Isaac Messenger is alive after rumors of his death proved a ghastly April first joke. Messenger has been ill for some time, with a telephone message to Jones' store Thursday claiming his death, followed by a correction the next day that it was a joke.

He describes long hours, squalid housing, and pay in company scrip usable only at company stores. The Commercial Chronicle reports the Endowment rank of the Knights of Pythias has stabilized after a prior deficit. Rates were raised, 10,000 members dropped, monthly receipts rose 53,000, and the deficit shrank from 559,500 to about 40,000 by February.
