Marysville council debates sewer plans amid bids for hose tower and property room. Mayor threatens non-partisan panel with four appointees to push a sanitary system by the 1911 deadline, as bids are tabulated and reports awaited.
Captain Dana W Kilburn of the 26th U S Infantry oversaw a federal inspection at the Armory before a large audience. He questioned soldiers on age service years occupation and military life and praised their performance. Kilburn, a Maryland native now at Detroit, served in the Spanish American War and in the Philippines.
Mr and Mrs Grant Courter plan a Panama assignment after a visit with kin. Courter, superintendent for McClinton Marshall in Pittsburg, recently finished a $1,000,000 Missouri River bridge at Kansas City and sails from New York March 18 to oversee canal locks. He takes six skilled workers. project lasts about three years.
Wm. O. Fryman son of Thos. Fryman and Alma Milligan of Troy township Delaware county were married yesterday at Delaware by Rev. A. D. Hawn. They will reside on the groom’s father’s farm for the season and have the good wishes of many relatives and friends.
Come to the Marysville bazaar next Saturday to purchase a globe and two gold fish for ten cents. The event offers small treasures and bargain buys for local shoppers.
Mrs Pearl Tway files for divorce from Carl L Tway whose residence is unknown alleging willful absence and gross neglect. Married April 22 1903 in Racine Wisconsin, one child John Tway age four custody with plaintiff. She seeks alimony and custody. James McCampbell is attorney.
Two marriage ceremonies recorded. Pearl W. Mathers 22 railroad laborer of Unionville Center wed Gertrude L. Pennington of Milford Center with Rev E S Weaver at the M E parsonage. Glen D. Davis 24 milk hauler of Buhalia married Doris Clements 20 of York township in a ceremony by Justice J Thomas.
Judge Rogers instructed a Franklin county jury to acquit L. F. Beckenstein of Beaumont Texas and co defendant Mrs Louise Sneed of Marysville in a fraud indictment connected to an oil deal. The case centered on a $100 stock payment misattributed to Beckenstein and the Hiawatha Oil Co now in receivership.
Frank G. Kelley of Ostrander through attorney John L. Loughrey sues the Cleveland Cincinnati Chicago and St. Louis Railroad for 25000 alleging a May 16 1910 injury in Springfield left him a paraplegic. He worked as fireman and locomotive inspector earning 8 a day and says he already spent 1000 on treatment. Kelley seeks 1500 for back pay and 25000 for personal injuries with interest from May 16 1910. Service was obtained on E F Healy of Marysville.
The Amish church leaders near Chuckery Cornelius Beechy Jacob Farmwald Noah Troyer and Benjamin Fry join a defense in Manasses Miller's $26000 suit alleging ostracism and barred social and business contact. Miller had been expelled from the church in 1907 for not meeting church rules and a prior 1910 suit settled for 250 dollars.
Rev Frank Rittenhouse spoke to Federated Men's clubs in the Congregational church on Rainbow Chasers. Norman C Bown presided. The meeting weighed Sunday post office closing with many favoring it while others opposed. Some residents want mail on Sundays.
Mrs Millie Sparks and her children from Rosedale depart after visiting Mr and Mrs M M Myers at their home. They are moving to Richwood to establish a new residence.
Officers chosen include Exalted Ruler F. M. Demorest and Esteemed Leading Knight Newt E. Liggett with other posts filled by Charles Beardsley Paul Miller Chester Rosette and W. F. Brodrick. A ceremonial session followed a six o’clock dinner supervised by Ralph Lentz with one candidate initiated and D. B. Edwards district deputy inspecting the work.
Milton Haines, private secretary to Congressman Cole for three years, returned to Marysville Friday as Cole's term expired March 4. Haines finished a thorough law course in Washington but has not chosen a location. Cole is expected to give lectures this summer.
Probate Judge Thornton stayed home with a bad grip last week. Presbyterian church installed new officers. H E Conkright leads the Men's club and J H Kinkade, six years as Sunday school superintendent, was re elected with Paul Sellers as assistant. R L Cameron, ex state senator, judged a Ohio Wesleyan Syracuse debate at Delaware Friday night on the postal savings bank. verdict favored the negative for O W U.
The will of John W. Tatman of Union township was offered for probate with a hearing set for March 11. The will of Emma Hodges of Leesburg township has also been offered for probate.
At a council meeting last night the sewerage project bid to Engineer E A Kemler of Columbus for 2160. His was the lowest of three compliant bids. ten bidders failed to include a certified check. Plans will be offered for sale once state health board approval is received.
Elza Mouser aged 21 son of Fred Mouser of Allen township was adjudged insane by Judge John M. Brodrick in absentia due to illness of the Probate Judge. He was committed to the Columbus state hospital after a police escort and is believed to be suffering from a grip related condition. He has threatened self harm and fears others aim to film him for moving pictures.
A Good Time C A White of Jackson township a Sunday school teacher was surprised last Thursday March 9 by about fifty friends from his young married peoples class. They entered his home with baskets and served a buffet luncheon then presented a Leautiful Axminster rug. The gathering continued with music and conversation until midnight. New open stock dinnerware patterns at the Bazaar Marysville.
Adams Husker Company ships three huskers to Budapest Hungary marking its first export order after a Columbus corn show exposure. An additional order for a unit to Marion Ohio was placed, routed through Williams Therhume New York. European firm Melichar and Bacher backed the Budapest sale after a favorable exhibit evaluation.
Captain John T. Snitzler is named president of the Board of Trade along with directors George E. Whitney Walter M. Otte Dr. Herman J. Nichol John M. Peel Richard L. Cameron and H. E. Conkright. Milo L. Myers becomes secretary and Frank W. Galloway treasurer. County Treasurer Robert Guy and Earl Harvey to audit the late treasurer and secretary. Banquet date set for March 30.
