Elect Officers at Presbyterian Banquet Meeting
During a church banquet, officers for the church and Sunday school were elected including President A. B. Robinson and Vice President John L. Sellers. James A. Mail Carriers Examination Set For Marysville
A civil service exam will be held in Marysville on March 23 to establish an eligible list for city mail carriers. No vacancies now, but an exam has been ordered. Postmaster Mullen will supply blank applications. Phil A Baker will conduct the test. Applicants aged 18 to 45, with women eligible if not married, and divorced or widowed women may apply. Male applicants must weigh at least 125 pounds and be 5 feet 4 inches tall.

Robert A. Conklin Dies After Long Illness
Robert A. Conklin aged seventy five died Tuesday night after a long illness of Brights disease at the home of W. S. Hobert in Wat kins. He was born September 25 1856 in Millcreek township and lived in Union county all his life. He owned land in Millcreek and survived by three sons Howard Toledo Rollin on the home farm and Charles Texas. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 pm in the M F church conducted by Rev Mr Plumb and burial followed in Watkins cemetery.

Thrilling runaway scare ends without injury to youth
Herman Scheiderer aged fourteen and his cousin August Schwartzkopf drove from a farm near Marysville when their horse bolted on New California pike near the Gilcrest site. Schwartzkopf jumped to halt the horse but failed as a telephone call to Commissioner Rausch aided their rescue two miles away. The buggy harness broke and the horse was injured. Herman escaped harm.
